Warren C. J. Hansen, Sr., 73, of Wareham passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Tobey Hospital, Wareham after a brief illness. He was the former husband of Nancy (Fisher) Hansen of New Bedford for 39 years and the former husband of Lucille (Gomes) Hansen Reynolds of Wareham.
Born on July 4, 1935 in Dartmouth, he was son of the late George W. Hansen, Sr. and the late Harriet (Reed) Hansen. He attended the Job S. Gidley School, Dartmouth. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the United States Air Force as a company clerk. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the City of New Bedford Water Department for 30 years as a laborer and working foreman. Mr. Hansen enjoyed tinkering with automobiles, working in his garden, playing his guitar and spending time with his family.
Survivors include: 8 children: Robert Hansen of Norton, Lorraine LaPointe and her husband Ray of Acushnet, Richard Hansen of Louisville, KY, Warren C. J. Hansen, Jr. and his wife Philomina of Middleborough, MA, Susan Hansen of St. Petersburg, FL, Mark Hansen and his wife Fernanda of Taunton, Judy Mullican and her husband James of Kodiak, AK and Randall Hansen and his wife Cheryl of Fall River; 12 grandchildren: Jonathan, Joshua, Sara, Philip, Victoria, Richard, Jr., JoAnne, Stefanie, Randi-lyn, Laura, Robin and Valerie; 11 great grandchildren; sister: Helen Milstead of Houston, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Arlene Hansen Silva, George W. Hansen, Jr. and Jane Quint.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:30 A.M.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 - 11:30 A.M. prior to the service.
Interment in Linden Grove Cemetery, Westport.
