GLOUCESTER: Evelyn (Destefano) Gustaferro, 88, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Gustaferro.
Born in Revere on May 26, 1920, she was the daughter of the late James and Concetta (Cella) Destefano. She resided in Medford for many years, and moved to Gloucester in 1970, where she had summered for many years.
Evelyn was a longtime employee at the former Empire Clothing Store on Main Street in Gloucester. Devoted to her family, she valued her many friends, her bright days at Good Harbor Beach and her walks at Long Beach and along the boulevard.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Jacqueline Gustaferro of Germany and Jay and Anne Gustaferro of Gloucester, four granddaughters, Lee Gustaferro of Tokyo, Japan, Lyn Vijehanderin of San Jose, CA and Grace and Maria Gustaferro both of Gloucester.
A memorial Mass will be held at a later date. There are no visiting hours.
