Obituary

Mr. John Anthony Polizzi, beloved husband of Patricia (Eddy) Polizzi, died at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading on Wednesday morning, August 20, 2008. He was 57 years old. He resided in Andover for 20 years.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the beloved son of the late Jim and Viola Polizzi. John was the founder and president of Capital Asset Services in North Andover since it's inception in 1999. He most recently worked as a Certified Accredited Senior Appraiser of the American Society of Appraisers, specializing in machinery and equipment evaluations. John was also part of the Commercial Finance and Leasing industries for over 25 years. He has always been well respected and admired for his honesty, integrity and knowledge in his field. John was an avid sports fan his entire life. Going to the beach, enjoying fine food, listening to all types of music, going to Fenway Park with his daughter were some of his favorite things. Above all he was a wonderful family man, always spending time with his beloved family.

Besides his beloved wife, Patricia, whom he married on June 19, 1976, he will be very dearly missed by one daughter and one son-in-law; Suzanne Polizzi Newell and her husband, James E. Newell, currently of Somerville.

John's other family members include: his sister, Ann Marie Fontanetta, of Queens, N.Y.; father-in-law, John Eddy, and mother-in-law, Charlotte Eddy, of Queens, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Joyce Clay and her husband, Kevin Clay, of Long Island, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Denise Eddy, of Queens, N.Y. John was also the brother-in-law of the late Philip Fontanetta, Arthur Eddy and James Eddy. John's family also includes 27 nieces and nephews throughout various states.

The Funeral Mass for John was celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Saturday, August 23 at 9:30 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Calling hours were held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Friday, August 22 from 4 PM to 8 PM. Burial was in West Parish Garden Cemetery, Andover.
