Mr. Billy Houpt, 79, died Wednesday, August 20, at his son’s home in Panola County.
Mr. Houpt was first a farmer, owning land in Lafayette, Yalobusha and Calhoun Counties. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He also was a retired Mississippi Highway Patrolman. Mr. Houpt was a Baptist.
Visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home, Friday August 22, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
The funeral service for Mr. Houpt will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley on Saturday August 23, at 2 pm with Rev. Doug Pepper officiating. Burial will follow at Orrwood Cemetery.
Mr. Houpt was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Locke Houpt.
Survivors include: his daughter, Billie Houpt, of Irving, Texas; his son Michael Houpt; daughter-in-law Jennifer Willard Houpt; granddaughter Amanda Joy Houpt, all of Water Valley, MS. He also leaves a sister, Bonnie Purvis of Toccopola, MS and a brother, Mike Inman of Oxford, MS.
