Troy Mardis, 68, of Oxford, MS passed away on August 20, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-NM in Oxford, MS. He was born March 6, 1940 in Tippah County, MS to Clyde and Quay Joslin Mardis, and was the owner of Mardis Tank Service Company. Troy Mardis was a deacon at Calvary Hill Church of Christ in Oxford, MS.
Services are planned for Friday, August 22, 2008 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Johnny Richardson presiding. Visitation will be Thursday, August 21, 2008 from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Oak Room of Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Church Grove Cemetery in Lafayette County.
Mardis is survived by his wife, Opal Brewer Mardis of Oxford, MS; one daughter, Lori Scruggs (Steve) of Batesville, MS; one son, Edward Mardis (Gail) of Oxford, MS; three brothers, Aaron Mardis of Byhalia, MS, Larry Joe Mardis of Oxford, MS, and Sammy Mardis of Tiplersville, MS; and seven grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Newell Mardis.
