MYSTIC — Lenore Gloge, 81, died peacefully July 22, 2008, at Mystic Manor Convalescent Home after a long illness.
She was predeceased by her parents, Fritz Gloge and Karoline Winterscheid Gloge. Miss Gloge is survived by a sister, Doris, of Stratford, five nieces, a nephew, and several great nieces and great nephews.
Miss Gloge spent most of her life in New York City. She loved the opera and the theater. She worked for more than 30 years as a regional consultant for the March of Dimes and later worked as a secretary for Ciba-Geigy. She graduated from Pratt Institute in New York. After retiring she moved to Southbury where she was a mentor in the local school system. She had many hobbies, sewing, bird watching and traveling.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Aug. 23, at St. James Lutheran Church, Southbury. Burial will be private at Lutheran All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village, N.Y., at an undisclosed date.
