She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Benjamin Crossan. Survivors include her aunt, Dorothy Prescott, of the United Kingdom and two cousins. She was a lifelong lover of animals. During her lifetime she adopted and cared for homeless cats and dogs. At the time of her passing, she shared her home with several cats and dogs. Being Welsh-born, she was fiercely proud of her heritage and culture. She was a member of several organizations that are dedicated to the celebration, preservation, and promotion of Welsh customs, heritage, and traditions. She actively participated in programs which promoted cultural exchange between the US and foreign societies. For many years, she opened her heart and welcomed into her home students of differing nationalities. These "daughters and sons" desired to experience American culture by living with an American family. As a result of her love and generosity, these "daughters and sons" would return to their native home with a better understanding and a fond appreciation of our diverse culture. Her life was enriched by these "daughters and sons" through the sharing of their native culture. She deeply appreciated the flora of nature. She spent many hours gardening and landscaping. Among the plantings on her estate are peach and magnolia trees, irises and flowering shrubs. The family request no flowers.
