Methuen, MA- Doris E. (Griffiths) Welch died Monday, August 18, 2008 at the Caritas Holy Family Hospital. Born in Coventry England to Samuel and Lily (Cradock) Griffiths, Doris lived in Lawrence until she moved to Methuen in 1961.
Doris was educated in Lawrence schools and went on to work as a wiremen for Western Electric for more then 25 years. She was a member of the Arlington Club and enjoyed gardening as well as needle work.
The widow of Joseph L. Welch, Doris is survived by her two sons, Laurence J. and his wife Nancy Welch of Salem NH., Michael T. Welch and his partner Judith Willette of Methuen, one brother Samuel Griffiths of California, Her companion Roger Poisson of Methuen as well as nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: At Doris’s request there will be no calling hours, but relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 10a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Barker St. Lawrence, MA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence St. Methuen.
