Yvonne “Nema” Baldwin Hendrix, 86, of North Charleston, widow of John E. Hendrix, died Sunday, August 17, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 11 o’clock at Holmes Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park, North Charleston.
Friends may call at the church from 10 o’clock until the hour of service on Thursday.

Nema was born February 11, 1922 in Ravenel, daughter of the late Frank Eugene Baldwin, Sr. and Louise Bivens Baldwin. She was a graduate of Walterboro High School and Rice Business College. She was active in church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years at Remount Baptist Church and Holmes Avenue Baptist Church.
Surviving are:
7 grandchildren: Breanne Hendrix Crawford (Patrick) of Summerville, Michael Cody Hendrix (Caroline) of James Island, Kelly Rebecca Hendrix of Anderson, Catherine Davis Ott (Kevin) of Wadmalaw Island, Louise Davis Thackeray of James Island, Bill Clegg (Amy) of St. George, Kelly Lewis (Michael) of St. George.
10 great grandchildren
1 daughter-in-law: Pat Vose (Tom) of Manning
2 brothers and 1 sister: Billy Baldwin (Glenda) of Fenwick Island, SC, Jerry Baldwin (Lee) of Bennetts Point, SC and Margaret Plowden of Wedgeville, SC.
She was predeceased by 2 brothers: Frank and Joe Baldwin, 2 sons:
Michael Arthur Hendrix and John E. Hendrix, Jr. survived by Vivian Hendrix, 1 daughter: Yvonne “Doodle” Davis
