William B. Licata, 71 years old a resident of Manchester, NH, and a former long time resident of Lawrence, MA. died Sunday, August 17, 2008 in at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH .

He was born September 6, 1936 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Son of the late Anthony and Marion (Norton) Licata. Educated in Lawrence local schools and he was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Mr. Licata served in the United States Army National Guard. Later worked as an Assistant Vice President for Fleet Bank the former Arlington Trust on Essex Street in Lawrence, MA. for many years until his retirement in 1994. He was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Counsel #4027, Market Street in Lawrence, MA, also belonged to the Sons of Italy Lodge #902 in Lawrence, MA. and the Rocky Club in Lawrence, MA. He was Methuen's Democrat of the year in 1991 having received various awards and citations from Massachusetts States Senate and the House of Representatives also from The Honorable Chet Atkins, 5th Congressional District of Massachusetts, and served for 30 plus years on the Board of Registrar's in Methuen, MA. He was a long time parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Lawrence, MA. According to a close friend he loved to talk politics and that he was a very religious man.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 10 :00AM St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence, MA. A burial will follow in the Saint Mary's Cemetery, Lawrence, MA.
