Teresa A. (Hogan) Burns, of Winchester, passed away at home in Winchester on Aug. 17th. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Beatrice (Finn) Hogan. Mrs. Burns was raised in Somerville. She attended St. Theresa’s Parochial School and graduated from Somerville High School. After High School, Teresa was employed as a Flight Attendant for TWA for several years. A horticulturist, she was most recently employed at Mahoney’s Garden Center in Winchester, where she made use of her extensive knowledge of Tulips. In Winchester, she also enjoyed membership in the Garden Club, where she also shared her love of flowers and plants. Mrs. Burns was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Winchester. She was very active with St. Mary’s Parish and School and was also a member of the Ladies Sodality. She was the beloved wife of James R. Burns, and the loving mother of David J. Burns and his wife Patricia of North Hampton, NH, Robert J. Burns of Scottsdale, AZ, James J. Burns and his wife Dawn of Gardner, Teresa M. Burns of Chicago and Joseph F. Burns and his wife Karen of Lowell. She was also the sister of Paul Hogan of Randolph and the late Barbara Lynch. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Gabrielle, Julia, Ian, Nathan, Kaitlyn, Nicole, Joseph and Andrew. Her Funeral will be held from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Thurs. Aug. 21st at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Winchester at 10AM. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Wed. from 4-8PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment private.
