Pembroke – Helen M. (Austin) Cobbett 93, died Saturday August 16th after a period of failing health.
She was the wife of the late Clifford Cobbett, Sr.
Born in Rockland she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lucinda (Higgins) Austin.
Helen loved gardening and was an avid reader. She enjoyed bingo and she loved to travel and go on day trips.
She is survived by her children; Gladys Hall of Halifax, Nancy Joseph of Plymouth, Marjorie Gilman of PA, Constance Cobbett of Pembroke, Apphia Downing of FL, Richard Cobbett of NH, Beverly Sturtevant and Arthur Cobbett both of TN, and Brenda Damon of Holbrook, also 43 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 29 great great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Clifford Cobbett, Jr. and sister of the late Charles, Robert and Milton Cobbett, and Genevieve Overbeck.
Her services will be held Wednesday August 20th at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Abington. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday August 19th from 4-7 PM.
