Rochester – Gary W. McCombe, Sr., 78, of Rochester died at home surrounded by his loving family on August 17, 2008. He was the husband of Loraine M. (O’Brien) McCombe.
Mr. McCombe was born in Rochester, son of the late William, Jr. and Marion B. (Sylvia) McCombe, and was a lifelong resident of the town. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a mechanical engineer by Louis Gerson Co., Middleboro until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Mass. Beekeepers Assoc. and a plank member of the U.S.S. Cabot Assoc. He enjoyed cooking, farming, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by 3 daughters: Patricia L. Zeiba and her husband Bruce of Raynham, Jeanne M. Adams and her husband Dennis of Lyndeborough, NH and Karen A. Breton of Rochester; 4 sons: Gary W. McCombe, Jr. of Rochester, Michael H. McCombe of Freetown, William J. McCombe of Rochester and James P. McCombe and his wife Marilyn of Nokesville, VA; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. He was brother of the late Eben A., Dwight C. and Nathan G. McCombe.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman Cemetery, Pine St., Rochester.
