BERKLEY – Douglas Lee Stratton, husband of Brenda (Rose) Stratton, died at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River on Saturday, Aug. 16th following a long illness. He was 79.
Born in Dighton, he was the son of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Brown) Stratton.
A 1947 graduate of Taunton High School, he was later employed by the former Sheridan Silver Co. for over 35 years, retiring in 1980.
Besides his wife, he leaves 2 sons, Robert Stratton and his wife, Carol of Lantana, FL, and Mark Stratton and his wife, Mary of Wareham; 4 daughters, Nancy Galuski of Falmouth, Joanne DeAndrade and her husband, John of Port Charlotte, FL, Audrey Corcoran of Taunton, and Sonya Sylvester and her husband, Warren of Dighton; 2 sisters, Audrey Perry and her husband, Tom of Shrewsbury and Linda Reid and her husband, Steve of N. Eastham; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Brian Stratton.
A Memorial Service will be held at the United Church of Assonet, 9 N. Main St., Assonet on Wednesday, Aug. 20th at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
