FREDERICK WARREN CLARK, a Hingham resident for the past 45 years, died on Saturday, Aug. 9th, 2008 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 83. Mr. Clark was born in Jamaica Plain and was a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and Lesley College in Cambridge. He was a mechanical engineer by profession and was also in sales. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy and was active for many years in the Naval Reserve. He was loved by everyone who knew him and was known as "Freddie Fixit" because of his ability to fix anything. A passionate country music fan, he attended may country jamborees.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Blanche O. (Hanson) Clark of Weymouth, a registered nurse, who cared for him during his final illness; and two sons, Frederick L. "Rick" Clark and his wife Wendy of Hingham and William J. Clark of Fort Pierce, FL. He was the grandfather of Mary Elizabeth Clark and Alexander Frederick Clark both of Hingham and brother of David Clark and his wife Florence of Media, PA. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters; Edna, Rubina, Priscilla, Mildred, Esther and 3 brothers, who were killed in action during World War II.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 23rd at 10 AM at the Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main St. (Rt. 228), Hingham, MA 02043. Visiting hours and flowers were omitted by request.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Church of the Resurrection.
The interment was private.
