FRANKLIN: John J. Creavin 48 of Franklin, died Friday August 15, 2008 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Denise M. (Cormier) Creavin for 19 years.
Born in Boston, April 21, 1960 a son of John J. Creavin of Milton, and the late Ellen (Whyte) Creavin, he was raised and educated in Milton, and was a 1978 graduate of Milton High School. He lived in Franklin for more than 15 years.
Until his illness forced him to stop working, Mr. Creavin worked for over 23 years for the MBTA as a diesel mechanic.
He was a member of the Franklin Lodge of Elks, and was active in his children’s sporting activities in Franklin, which included wrestling, football & baseball. He was an avid New England Patriot and Red Sox fan, and also enjoyed skiing and life, and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife and father include 2 sons: Brendan C. and Ryan J. Creavin of Franklin, a brother Stephen T. Creavin and his wife Beth of Wayland, a sister Maria Plaus and her husband Dr. William Plaus of Denver, CO, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Relatives and friend are invited to attend his funeral Wednesday at 10:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, www.franklinfuneral.com with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church Sq., Franklin at 11AM. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours are Tuesday 4-8PM. The Franklin Lodge of Elks will conduct a Lodge of Sorrows Ritual service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00PM.
