74 in Huntington Beach CA formerly of Newton and Brighton, died suddenly on August 9, 2008.
He was a graduate of Brighton High School in 1952 and a Korean War Veteran. He earned a BS from Boston College in 1961 and earned his medical degree from St. Louis University, St Louis, MO in 1965. He specialized in psychiatry and completed his residency at the Institute for Living in Hartford, CT. During his career, Dr. Cicconi was employed at the College Mental Health Center, Boston, was a faculty member of Counseling Center of Stonehill College, staff psychiatrist at the New Life Council, Waltham and for many years maintained a private practice in Newton.
Beloved husband of the late Antoinette (Walz), he is survived by two daughters, Lora and Martine, Caregiver Joan Walker, his sisters Laura Cedrone and Carmella Sweeney, his brothers Joseph and Daniel Cicconi and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Columbkille Church 321 Market St. Brighton on Wednesday August 20 at 10:30 am. At the request of the family interment will be private.
