Obituary

TEWKSBURY: William G. Scheid, age 76, a longtime Tewksbury resident and communicant of St. William’s Parish, passed away after a brief illness, on Friday, August 15, 2008 at Lowell General Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Florence (Phelan) Scheid, with whom he would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on Monday, August 18, 2008.
Born in Melrose on June 6, 1932, he was the son of the late Bernard and Margaret (Hancock) Scheid.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a precision machinist at Easton Science Company of Rowley, where he worked for 35 years.
Mr. Scheid served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in Germany and Europe.
According to his wife, he had many hobbies including model trains, vegetable gardening, growing plants and carpentry. In addition, he enjoyed caring for his many pets and camping trips throughout New England, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Georgia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, Bernard Scheid of Tewksbury; one sister, Mary Atkinson of Morrow, GA; his in-laws, Mary and Donald Stewart and Margaret and Ken Lambert all of North Andover; also several nieces and nephews both locally and in Georgia.
At his request funeral services are private. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
