New Bedford- Jesse Pacheco, age 86, died Wednesday , August 13, 2008 at home after a brief illness. Mr. Pacheco was the husband of the late Irene Pacheco. Father of Robert Pacheco and his Companion Sandra Fulton of New Bedford, and Karleen Winn and her husband Phillip of New Bedford. Grandfather of Michael , Mark and Susan Pacheco, and Amy Knott. He was the brother of Gilbert and Arthur Pacheco both of New Bedford, Theresa Pereira of Fairhaven, Norma and Dorothy Ferro both of Dartmouth, and Father in law to Cindy Pacheco. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Pacheco was the father of the late Jesse Pacheco Jr. and brother of the late John, Manuel “ Sam”, Joseph, and Carlos Pacheco, and Constance Motta.
Mr. Pacheco was a son of the late Maria Conceicao (Medeiros) and Joao Pacheco. He was born in New Bedford and he lived in this area all of his life. He was employed as a Maintanance Man at New Bedford School Dept. He was a member of the V.F.W. in New Bedford.
Mr. Pacheco’s funeral will be saturday from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4-7 P.M. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend.
