Obituary

Sister Claire Laferriere, PM, (Sr. St. Donald), 92, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, 495 Mammoth Rd., died August 12, 2008 at St. Joseph Residence, Manchester, NH.
She was born in Holyoke, MA, on December 8, 1915, the daughter of Arthur J. and Delima (Mercier) Laferriere. She entered the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in St. Hyacinthe, Canada in 1934 and made her Final Profession in 1941.
Sister Claire received her Bachelor and Master degrees from Rivier College, Nashua, NH. She did post-graduate studies in Business at Hesser College in Manchester, NH.
During her career as an educator, Sister Claire served as an elementary and secondary teacher in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. She joined the Rivier College staff as a librarian at the Regina Library in Nashua. Sister ministered as secretary for the Cabot Corporation in Boston, MA. She also served as Provincial Librarian until her retirement in 2000 to St. Marie Residence in Manchester.
In 2003, she transferred to St. Joseph Residence.
Family members include nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, August 18, in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial followed in the Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson, NH.
