Frances G. Sanford, 89, Clarksville, died Sunday, August 10, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Revs. Bob Dixon and Darren Brown officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 P.M. today at Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home and from 11 A.M. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born March 13, 1919 in Clarksville, TN to James Frank and Joanna Sugg Garriety. She was married 63 years to Robert (Bob) Sanford. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and uncle, O.B. Sugg who reared her. She was a graduate of Clarksville High School and attended Austin Peay State College. She started working in 1936 at Christian Todd Telephone Co. Southern Bell Telephone, and retired as business office supervisor in 1975 from South Central Bell. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and Telephone Pioneers. She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Riggins and Ethel Mai Wright both of Clarksville, TN. She is also survived by two nieces, Carolyn F, Riggins and Judith Banks Moore (Dennis) of Clarksville, TN. Pallbearers will be Denny Boguskie, Harvey Blanck, David Wright, Richard Patton, Dennis Moore, McCauley Gray, Charles Gray, Sanford Gray, and Chris Patton. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Lunsford, Jack Perry, Louie Smith, and Bob Burdick.
