Linda M. Marshall-Godin, 53, of Napoleon St., Woonsocket, died Sunday at home. Linda successfully battled kidney disease for several years and her passing was unexpected. She was the loving wife of Marcel R. Godin, to whom she was married on October 20, 2001.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Holgate) Marshall. She resided in her home on Napoleon St. her entire life.
Linda was employed by the State of Rhode Island, Dept. of Human Services, in the Woonsocket office for over 28 years.
Linda enjoyed traveling and was fond of Aruba, Florida, the Caribbean, and New Hampshire. She once traveled cross county. She had a special affinity for her cats, past and present, especially Bootsie, Kimber, Sidney, and Blackie. She was an avid collector of all types of decorations and memorabilia related to cats. Above all Linda was devoted to her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Gail Poisson, and her husband Ronald, of FL., a nephew, Ronald Poisson, Jr., and his wife Christine, of NY, her great-niece and great-nephew, Olivia and Tristan Poisson, of NY, and her uncle, Ronald Marshall, of Pawtucket. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Norman Godin, and his wife Claire, of CT, and their children, Paul, Roger, Gerald, Daniel, and David, Godin, all of CT. Linda is also survived by her best friend, Sylvia Richards, and her husband Bryan, of Woonsocket.
Her funeral will be Thursday at 9:00 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in All Saints Church, Rathbun St., Woonsocket.
