Carmine Lorusso Jr. 83, of Norfolk, died Saturday August 9, 2008 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Concetta M. (Marzuolo) Lorusso for more than 57 years.
Born in Anzano DiPuglia, Italy May 5, 1925 a son of the late Carmine and Domenica (Magaletta) Lorusso, he lived in Norfolk since 1960.
He was raised and educated in Italy, and came to America in 1948. He first settled in Norwood, and then to Franklin where he lived for several years before moving to Norfolk where he lived until his death.
Mr. Lorusso was a home building contractor. He was president of the C. Lorusso & Sons Construction Company.
He was a member of the Franklin Country Club, and enjoyed gardening & travel. He was also a communicant of St. Jude’s Church in Norfolk.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons, Anthony Lorusso and his wife Joan of Norfolk, David Lorusso and his wife Kathy Jane King of Cedar Park, Texas, Richard Lorusso of Wrentham, Gerald Lorusso and his wife Marianne of Franklin, two daughters Linda King and her husband Greg and Concetta Marcotte and her husband Bob all of Norfolk, and two sisters Madeline Rodgers of Hollywood, Florida and Pasqualina LoRusso of Norwood. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and his daughter in law Deirdre A. (Halligan) Lorusso.
Mr. Lorusso was also the father of the late John J. Lorusso and Carmine “Chuck” Lorusso III.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Thursday Aug. 14, 2008 at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home (www.franklinfuneral.com) 33 Cottage St. Franklin with a funeral Mass in St. Jude’s Church 86 Main St. Norfolk at 10AM. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.
Calling hours are Wednesday Aug. 13, 2008 from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
