Sheila (Woodley) Branchaud, 72, of New Bedford died Wednesday August 6, 2008 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She was the devoted wife of 41 years of the late Girard C. "Jerry" Branchaud.
Born in London, England, the daughter of the late Alfred and Florence Woodley, she lived in Greater New Bedford since 1955.
Mrs. Branchaud was formerly employed as a real estate agent for Century 21 Hughes & Carey.
She was a member of the Transatlantic Brides and Parents Association, the YWCA Widowed Persons Services, and the New Bedford Board of Realtors.
She enjoyed playing dominos with her English friends on Mondays, playing cards with family and friends on Tuesdays, attending the sewing circle on Wednesdays, and speaking by telephone to her sister Maureen faithfully every Sunday. She loved getting together with family and friends at her home.
Survivors include four children, David M. Branchaud, Steven W. Branchaud, and Maureen T. Castanha, all of New Bedford, and Anthony G. Branchaud and his wife Tammy of Taunton; a sister, Maureen Pushman of England; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a wide circle of friends.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at the Acushnet Wesley United Methodist Church, 67 Main St., Acushnet. Visiting hours are omitted.
