Catherine A. Burik, Olyphant, died Monday at Mid-Valley Hospital, Peckville. She was the widow of Dr. Nicholas Burik, who died in 1974.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Glinsky Toth, she was a graduate of Olyphant High School, class of 1942. Before her illness, she was employed in the cafeteria at Mid Valley High School. She was a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
Surviving are four sons; Gregory, Paul and Theodore, all of Olyphant; and Christopher and wife, Elaine, Binghamton, N.Y.; a sister, Margaret Magdon, Florida; a granddaughter, Katie Burik; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Nicholas and Stephen, and two brothers, Edward and John Toth.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, with Divine Liturgy at 9:30 in SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, River Street, Olyphant, by Monsignor Stephen Hrynuck. Interment, SS. Cyril and Methodius cemetery, Peckville.
