WORCESTER__Casimir J. Bazikas, 87, died Tuesday August 5 in St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by his family.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Grazina (Simulynas) Bazikas, a son, Vytautas Bazikas of Southborough; a daughter, Nijole Harcus of New Hampshire; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a brother, Antanas and a sister, Mary. Casimir was born in the United States, a son of the late Jonas and Antonina (Naujokiute) Bazikas. He was raised and educated in Lithuania before returning to Worcester in 1949.
Mr. Bazikas was a longtime employee at Lusignan Textiles working as a weaver. Casimir was a parishoner of St. Casimir Church where he served as a lector for many years. He was also a member of the Lithuanian Charitable Society.
The funeral will be held on Saturday August 9 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday August 8, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children’s Hospital Trust, 1 Autumn Street, #731, Boston, Ma 02215-5301.
