CHERRY VALLEY-Helen E. (Simonis) Stellman, 92, of 577 Main Street, died Sunday, March 23rd at home. Her husband of 47 years, Michael P. Stellman died in 1987. She leaves a son, Richard W. Stellman of South Deerfield; 3 sisters, Agnes A. Tochy of Worcester, Veronica Clingan of Sacramento, CA and Matilda Moran of Long Beach, CA; a grandson, Brendon J. Stellman of South Deerfield; a granddaughter, Michelle J. Stellman of Shrewsbury; several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
She was born in Spencer, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Kalinauskas) Simonis. Mrs. Stellman was a practical nurse at Worcester State Hospital for many years, retiring in 1970 and previously worked at St. Vincent Hospital. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, enjoyed dancing and loved watching her grandchildren grow up.
The funeral will be Thursday, March 27th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 759 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will be in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Wednesday, March 26th from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
