Arthur F. “Chick” Paul, age 85, of Somerset since 1962. Passed away Aug. 6, 2008. Husband of Rose (Silvia) Paul. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Manuel F. and Maria (Farias) Paul. He was a parishioner of St. John of God Church & a decorated U.S. Army Veteran of WW II, where he fought at the D-Day Invasion of Normandy, France at Omaha Beach
He was employed for the Town of Somerset Highway Dept. and retired in 1984. Never one to be idle, he then worked another 17 years for Reynolds Florist. He loved country music, the casino, fishing, boating & anything related to the sea. He took pride in craftsmanship of many kinds.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 children: Thomas Paul of Winthrop, MA. and Susan Matthews of Fall River. 2 Grandchildren: Stephanie Matthews of Somerset, and Julie Baker of Houston, TX. 2 Great-Grandchildren: Daniel Matthews and Aiyana Baker.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Saturday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a funeral mass in St. John of God Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours Friday 5-8 PM.
