Virginia (Ginnie) Bryant of Salem NH since 1961 passed away peacefully Friday, August 1, 2008 at Harborside Northwood in Bedford, NH.
Born in Boston October 21, 1921 she was a former resident of W. Brewster, MA where she lived with the Alexander family. She graduated from Orleans High School in 1940 and recently attended her 66th class reunion.
Ginnie was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur French (1958), second husband, Charles (Bud) Bryant (1990) and stepson, Charles (Chuck) Bryant who died in 1984.
Ginnie held many jobs including Rockingham Race Track, Mays Flowers and MFE where she retired in 1983. She enjoyed cross-country trips with her family, berry picking, ice fishing with friends and helping out at the Martin’s Pond Baptist Church bean suppers.
In her later years she cared for her beloved cat and flower garden, specifically her rose bush and irises. Some of her favorite pastimes included picking pussy willows, going out for butternut ice cream, and perusing flea-markets.
She was close with her niece, Karen Yim of Westford, MA and long time friend, Beth Sanders of Windham, NH. Thank you to the many people who touched Ginnie in a positive manner throughout her lifetime.
Calling hours are at Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem NH, on Sunday, August 10th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM Cremation will follow.
