Edward M. Boger, 74

Edward M. Boger, 74, of Norton formerly of Mansfield died on Monday August 4, 2008 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Arlene B. (Menzes) Boger to whom he was wed to on September 11, 1955.
Born in Charlottesville, Virginia on August 21, 1933 he was a dear son of the late Edward R. and Myrtle (Hurtt) Boger.
Eddie grew up and was educated in Virginia. He enlisted in the United States Navy on April 23, 1952 during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on April 22, 1960.
Mr. Boger was an Electronic Engineer and had worked at the Helix Technology Co. in Mansfield for 14 years prior to retiring in 2007. He had formerly been employed at Northrup-Grumman in Norwood and for B.D. Electrodyne in Sharon.
He had made his home in Norton for the past 21 years and previously lived in Mansfield for 18 years and also in Florida. Eddie enjoyed bicycling and was very active with the Pan Mass Challenge for Cancer Research and was a Champion for the American Diabetes Association.
While a resident of Florida he and his wife were active with the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of America. While residing in Mansfield he was active with the Mansfield Midget Football Association.
An avid bowler, Mr. Boger loved times spent with his devoted family and especially watching his grandchildren grow up.
In addition to his beloved wife of nearly 53 years he is survived by his devoted children Sheila J. Paulter of Gainesville, Florida, Marilyn M. Shealy of Middleboro, Edward R. Boger of Foxboro, Ross E. Boger of Chicopee and Robert E. Boger of Norton. He was the brother of Henrietta Knott of Newport News, Virginia and Morris Boger of Charlottesville, Virginia, also survived by his cherished 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday August 13th at 7:00 P. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers Eddie’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the American Diabetes Association 330 Congress St. Boston, MA 02210
