Obituary

Thelma P. Dame, 83, of Hartford Pike, a secretary for the Pongansett School System before retiring, died Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Fatima Hospital. She was the widow of Donald T. Dame.

Born in Glocester, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Ella (Waterman) Steere. She had been a resident of Foster and Scituate.

She was a founding member of the Ponagansett Band Parents Assoc. and a member of the Grace Church Choir in Providence She enjoyed painting with oils.

She is survived by her children Donald T. Dame of Scituate, Kathleen P. Bowman of South Kingstown, Calista A. McDermott of Scituate, and two grandchildren; Scott Bowman and Cam McDermott. She was the sister of the late Harvey L. Steere and Marjorie L. Bruno.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday 1:00 pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will follow in Acote’s Hill Cemetery. Visitation Monday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914.
