Gertrude Rita (LaBelle) Roy-Silva age 90 of Salem, NH, died Friday at the Nevins Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Methuen, MA.
She was born in Lawrence, MA, where she grew up and attended Sacred Heart School, and graduated from Lawrence High School. She was a resident of Salem for the past39 years, formerly of So. Lawrence, MA.
Rita was a retired Tester for AT&T in North Andover, MA. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was a volunteer and on the board of the Salem Care Givers and she also volunteered at Salemhaven Nursing home and Northeast Rehab Hospital in Salem.
She was predeceased by her Husband Albert W. Silva and also predeceased by a son Robert Roy, who died in Germany during World War II.
She is survived by 2 Daughters: Phyllis Seccariccio of Salem, NH
Denise & her Husband Peter Jones of Lutz, FL
2 Sisters: Stella Hackney of Fort. Myers, FL
Claire & her Husband Albert Pepin of Orlando, FL
7 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews
Calling hours will be held Friday, Aug. 8 from 4-8 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday Aug. 9 at 10:30 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Rd, Salem, NH. Cremation will follow.
