Obituary

SHREWSBURY-Yvonne M. (Lajoie) Rogers, 90, of 127 Grafton Street, died Thursday, March 20, 2003 in University of Massachusetts-Memorial Medical Center.

Her husband of 52 years, Frank Rogers, as did her sisters; Irene Nickerson, Lillian Muir, Lena Lepore, Hector Lajoie, and Alfred Lajoie.

She leaves her niece and caretaker, Mary St. Michel, and her nephew and caretaker William “Bill” Lepore, both of Houston, TX Among her survivors she leaves, nephews; Paul and Bob Nickerson, Art Muir, David and John Rogers, Richard Woodward, and Harvey and Arthur Chapelaine, and nieces; Joanne Jourdain, Claire Krafcigs, Dorothy Domenichelli, Marion Sullivan, and Trudy Gauvin.

Born in Marlborough, daughter of the late Frederic and Flora (Simard) Lajoie, she attended Saint Anne’s Academy in Marlborough, and later moved to Shrewsbury where she resided for nearly fifty years.

Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Shrewsbury Women’s Club, and it’s board of directors, and held numerous officer positions in the club. She was a long time active member of the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology, and a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Shrewsbury, and it’s Jet Set 1 and Jet Set 2 clubs.

She was a skilled artist; her work has been displayed in the Shrewsbury Public Library. She was also a singer and had her own radio show on a Worcester Station.

The Funeral will be held Wednesday March 26, 2003 from the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home 648 Main Street, (brittonfuneralhomes.com) with a mass at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough. Calling Hours at the Funeral home will be held Tuesday March 25, 2003 from 2-4P.M. And 7-9 P.M.
