Obituary

WORCESTER-Walter Joseph Rabidou, 89, of Worcester, died Thursday, July 31st in the Jewish Healthcare Center. He leaves his wife, Shirley A. (Muzzy) Rabidou, whom he would have celebrated their 63rd anniversary with on November 16th; his daughter, Nancy Faye Singh and her husband Dr. Param Singh of Shrewsbury; a stepson, Albert Joseph Fournier, formerly of Gardner; three grandsons, Dr. Amrik Singh and his wife Dana of Brookline, Ajay Singh and his wife Aana of Boston and Brian Rabidou of Moyock, NC; and several nephews and nieces. His son, Paul David Rabidou died in 2007 and ten brothers and sisters predeceased him.

He was born in Leicester, the son of George and Eva (Dube) Rabidou and was a graduate of Leicester High School. Mr. Rabidou was employed by Johnson Steel and Wire Company for over 25 years as a dye maker. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran serving aboard the U.S.S. Ranger. Mr. Rabidou was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and the 70 plus ski club at Mount Wachusett. He took pride in his home and enjoyed following the heraldry of the Rabidou family.

The funeral is Monday, August 4th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, August 3rd from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475 or to the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
