New Bedford- Maria Lurdes Pacheco, 96, of New Bedford, died Thursday, 31, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was de wife of the lat Saul José Pacheco and the daughter of Manuel & Rosa Sousa.
She was born Salga, São Miguel Açores, and live in New Bedford for 48 years,
and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Maria Alice Cardoso and her husband José Silveira Cardoso, and Margaret M. Fortunato, widow of the late John Fortunato, a son, Christopher S. Pacheco, two grandchildren, Michael Fortunate and George P. Cardoso.
and various nephews and nieces.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, MA 02740. Visiting hours will be Friday 5 t o 8 P.M.
Her funeral mass will be said, Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 9:00 A.M. Burial will be St. John’s Cemetery.
