Ellmer F. Snow

retired from Lever Bros. and Poloroid; 92

BILLERICA - Elmer F. Snow, 92, died Thursday morning, Dec. 27, at the Northwood Nursing Center in Lowell after a brief illness. He was the husband of Veronica (O’Brien) Snow who diedin 1994, and earlier, the husband of Jessie (Mann) Snow, who died in 1943.

He was born in Cambridge, January 12, 1909, a son of the late Frank and Lillian (Rooney) Snow. He was raised in Cambridge, and lived in Rochester N.H. with his second wife for 24 years. Hereturned to live in Billerica in 1994.

In his earlier years, he worked for Lever Brothers soap company in Cambridge, and after the plantmoved to California, he became a security guard at the Cambridge location of Poloriodcorporation.

In his youth, he played football for Harvard University for five years, as a non-enrolled athelete.

He is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Gladys and Joseph Lembo of Wakefield, Janetand Robert Colburn of Billerica, with whom he lived, Marilyn and Charles Green of West PalmBeach, Fla., Priscilla and Joseph Lavacchia of Woburn, Helen and Plunkett “Buddy” Willis of St.Petersburg, Fla., one sister, Helen Sherry of Boston, one brother, Lawrence Snow of Brockton,20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.He was also brother of the late Frank Snow and Edwin Snow.

Following cremation, a graveside service was held Friday, Jan. 4, at theCambridge Cemetery.
