Robert L. Guay, 85, of Londonderry, NH, died Tuesday July 29, 2008 at his home. Mr. Guay was born in Lawrence, MA on September 3, 1922, a son of the late Donat and Lena (Marsha) Guay. He had been a Londonderry resident for 26 years, formerly of Salem, NH. A WWII veteran, he served in both the US Army and Navy. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and loved to fish and travel.
He is survived by his wife, Rita E. (Lahey) Guay of Londonderry, two daughters, Rose H. and her husband William Grady of Jefferson, NH, Mary Ann and her husband John LeMieux Jr. of Pelham, NH, four grandchildren, John LeMieux III, Roberta LaChance, Denise Devaney and Robert Grady, and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers, Donat and his wife Louise Guay of Henderson, NV, Kenneth and his wife Arlene Guay of Port Charles, FL, Edward Guay of Lawrence, MA, Jean and his wife Elaine Guay of Haverhill, MA, two sisters, Cecile Lavallee of Salem, NH and Evelyn and her husband Raymond Sarcone of Salem, NH, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Friday August 1st from 5 to 8pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday at 10:00am at St. Mark’s Church, corner of South Rd. and Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Burial will follow in the Gibson Cemetery, Pelham, NH.
