WEBSTER - Irene R. (Blouin) Mickiewicz, 96, died Tuesday, July 29, in Oakwood Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Her husband, Joseph Mickiewicz, died in 1964.
She leaves a brother, Roland Blouin of Webster; three sisters, Lucille LaPlante of Webster, Geraldine Grenier of North Grosvenordale, CT, and Rita Strzelewicz of Oxford; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Emile, Arthur, Victor and Richard Blouin and by two sisters, Adrienne Strzelewicz and Loretta Kuszewski.
She was born and raised in Amesbury, the oldest daughter of Emile and Yvonne (Fournier) Blouin. She moved to Webster in 1929. She then lived in Canton for 30 years, moving back here in 1988.
Mrs. Mickiewicz was an inspector at Polaroid Corporation in Cambridge before retiring in 1978.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a former member of Saint John the Evangelist Church in Canton.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, August 6, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St. Burial will be in Saint Mary Cemetery, Canton. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, August 5, in the funeral home.
