Obituary

Francis J. Campo Jr., 83, of Las Vegas, NV, died Friday, July 25, 2008 in the Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas. Mr. Campo was born in New York City, NY on October 2, 1924, a son of the late Francis and Rose (Squtirri) Campo. He was a resident of Las Vegas since 2002, formerly living in Derry, NH. Mr. Campo was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII. He was employed as a mechanical engineer for Parson Bechtel Engineers in Boston, MA. Mr. Campo was a member of the American Legion Lester Chase Post #9 and the VFW Post #1617 both of Derry. He was an avid collector of stamps, trains and Norman Rockwell plates.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary (Hazou) Campo of Las Vegas, NV; his son, Ronald Campo of Londonderry, NH; two daughters, Francine Palmer and her husband Burt of Pembroke, MA, and Annmarie Young and her husband Allen of Derry; seven grandchildren, Michael Campo, Ronald Campo, Stephen Campo, Justin Campo all of Londonderry, Bryan Foley of Derry, Zachary Palmer and Nicholas Palmer both of Pembroke, MA. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ann A. Campo in 1982.
Friends called on Wednesday, July 30th from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Thursday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. The burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry.
