DALEY, Rev. John A.- Of Arlington, July 28th. Devoted son of the late Charles H. and Mary E. (Cormican) Daley. Beloved brother of Catherine V. LeClerc and her husband William G of Beverly Farms, Ruth E. Wiseman and he husband William W. of Beverly, Bernadine Dooley and her husband Richard of Enfield, CT and the late Mary Melledy, Lt. Commander Robert E. Daley and Ellen T. Morin. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Father Daley will lie in state in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, MALDEN on Thursday, July 31st from 3-8 PM. A concelebrated Funeral Mass with Bishop Francis Irwin, main celebrant will be held in St. Joseph's Church on Friday morning, August 1st at 11 AM. Services will conclude with interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Senior Priest in retirement at St. Agnes Church in Arlington since 2002, Father Daley previously served at St. Theresa's Parish in North Reading, St. Jude Parish in Waltham, St. Mary's Parish in Melrose, St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Braintree, as Chaplain of the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital and Normandy House Elder Care and lastly as Pastor of St. Joseph's Parish in Malden from 1983 until 2002.
Born and raised in Beverly Farms, Father Daley, at 78 years of age, passed away at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital where he had been a patient for the last 6 weeks. A graduate of St. Margaret's School in Beverly Farms and St. John's Prep Class of 1948. After completing his studies at St. John's Seminary in Brighton, Father Daley was ordained on February 2, 1956 at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston by Richard Cardinal Cushing.
