Pauline L. (Stickney) Hindley, 94, passed away peacefully on July 18 at the Village at Waterman Lake. She was the wife of the late Vincent B. Hindley and the late Allyn K. Suttell.
She is survived by her son, Rhode Island Supreme Court Justice Paul A. Suttell of Little Compton, his wife Mary and their two children, William and Grace. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Patricia Knight and Carolyn (Mrs. Henry) DeWolf, her nieces, Elayne Duarte and Frances Martinelli, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Charlotte Hawkins and her brother Frederick N. Stickney.
The daughter of Edmund C. and Sigrid L. (Nordstrom) Stickney, Mrs. Hindley was born in Providence and raised in Edgewood. She has lived in Washington DC, Smithfield, Barrington, Bristol, Delray Beach, Florida and most recently at the Village at Waterman Lake. She was an active participant in many civic and charitable organizations and was a long standing member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist where she served in many capacities.
Funeral arrangements and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Hindley’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
