Alexa C.”Lexa” Latteo, 19, of Mansfield formerly of Norton and Quincy died on Saturday July 26, 2008 in Wrentham as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Bell County, Texas on September 17, 1988 she was a loving daughter of Christine E. “Tina” (Latteo) Holmes and Peter J. Holmes of Mansfield and the late Patrick J. Duffy.
Alexa spent her childhood years living in Quincy and attended the Woodward School from grades 6-8. Her family later moved to Norton where she was a member of the Norton High School Class of 2006.
She was preparing to enter her junior year at Bridgewater State College-studying Elementary Education. She loved children and as part of her studies she served as a teacher’s assistant in the Mansfield Elementary Schools.
Lexa spent this summer on Martha’s Vineyard in Edgartown working for the Harbor View Hotel. She enjoyed going to the beach, swimming, biking and making new friends. She had come home to spend time with her friends and family and to help with the arrival of her soon to be born baby sister.
She loved times spent with her adoring family and friends, listening to music, shopping trips and fashion. While living in Norton She had received her confirmation at St. Mary’s Church. A resident of Mansfield for the past 3 years, she had formerly resided in Norton and Quincy.
In addition to her loving parents she is survived by her dear and devoted brothers Brian C. Holmes, Vincent X. “Vinnie” Holmes, Nicholas G. “Nico” Holmes and Zander P. Holmes all of Mansfield. She was the cherished granddaughter of Gail Blaikie of Texas formerly of Weymouth, Nicholas Latteo of Weymouth and Charles and Margaret Duffy of Quincy, also surviving are many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Her funeral mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Wednesday July 30th at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday July 29th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield.
