Obituary

Nahja D. (Dunville) Haagensen, 77, of Franklin, died peacefully Friday, July 25, 2008, at the Blaire House in Milford, following a long period of declining health. She was the devoted wife of Glen F. Haagensen for more than 56 years.
Born in Richmond, Va., in August 1930, the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Thelma L. (Dees) Dunville, she had lived in Franklin for more than 40 years.
She was a graduate of Ashland, Va., High School, and attended Richmond Polytech Institute. Mrs. Haagensen was a retired homemaker.
Her passion in life was her family, husband, children and grandchildren, and enjoyed sewing, country music and folk music. She also served as a Girl Scout leader many years ago.
Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Kathryn D. Haagensen, Anna B. Haagensen, Ebba Jo L. Haagensen, all of Franklin, Tove M. Esser of Michigan and Carrie E. Haagensen-Gagnon of Milford; a brother, Joseph W. Dunville of Georgia; a sister, Julia D. Sallin of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Vincent Esser III, Michael Esser, Sally Roy, Joseph Gagnon, John Gagnon; and one great-grandson, Zachary Roy.
She was also the mother of the late Karen P. Haagensen and the sister of the late Dorman H. Dunville and Robert A. Dunville.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday, July 30, at 2 p.m., at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., Franklin.
Burial will follow in Union Street Cemetery in Franklin.
Calling hours are Tuesday, July 29, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
