Belmira (Arruda)Da Silva, age 84, formerly of Shore Dr., Fall River, passed away July 26, 2008. Widow of Miguel Da Silva & Jose V. Cabral & daughter of the late Antonio & Conceicao (Tavares) Arruda. She was a retired sewing machine operator having worked at the former Rochelle Sportswear. Born in Santa Barbara, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was a Fall River resident since 1995, previously of Swansea & a parishioner of St. John of God Church & of the Holy Rosary Sodality.
She is survived by 5 children: Leonilde Pavao of Warren, Natalie & Carlos Da Silva both of Swansea, Luis Silva of Clearwater, FL & Duarte “Ed” Da Silva of Swansea; 2 sisters: Rose Albernaz of Swansea & Hilda Rapoza of Bristol; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren & several nieces and nephews. She was mother of the late Merces Trindade.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Wednesday at 8 A.M. with a mass of Christian burial in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave., Somerset at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, County St., Somerset. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8 P.M.
