New Bedford - Antone J. Souza, aged 74 years, died Friday, July 25, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness . He was the husband of Nancy (Perry) Souza married for 15 years, of New Bedford. Mr. Souza was the father of Susan Perry, Victoria Fermino, Antone J. Souza Jr., Joseph Souza, Kenneth Souza, Sharon Molleo, Michael Souza, Stacey Florez, Tracey Tripathi, Tonie Britto and the late Christopher Souza. Mr. Souza was the brother of Joseph Sousa, Gloria Menard, Patricia Gauthier, Lucie Gibeau, and the late Albert Gadapee Jr. and Rita Lacerte. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Souza was the son of the late Joseph Sousa and Mary G. (Feitor) Gadapee. He was born in Augusta, Maine and he lived in this area most of his life. He was employed as a maintenance man at Tremblay Bus Company. Mr. Souza was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He did landscaping at the Mattapoisett Animal Hospital.
In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated. Visiting Hours will be Tuesday 6 to 8 at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, MA. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS.
