Monica Spegar, R.N., 79, of Oak Park, Ill., died Thursday, 07/17/08, at home.
Born in Blakely, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Knapp Spegar, she was a graduate of Blakely High School and was an honor nursing graduate of Mount Sinai Hospital, Chicago, where she worked for 35 years before retirement. Her many hobbies included reading, gardening and doing puzzles. She was a loving sister and aunt.
Surviving are three sisters, Magdalen, Blakely; Matilda Devaney, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Helen Moses, Woodridge, N.J.; a brother, Michael, Blakely; and 13 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 26,2008, at 9 a.m. from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 in Holy Ghost Church, with the Rev. Thomas Muldowney, pastor, officiating. Interment, private in Holy Ghost Cemetery, Blakely.
