WORCESTER__Evelyn Frances “Skee” (Fairley) Boddie, 85, of 91 Murray Ave., died Tuesday July 22 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont St.
She leaves a son, Theodore R. Boddie III of Fitchburg; six daughters, Jean Moore of Henderson, NV, Deborah, Darlene, Valerie and Michelle Boddie, all of Worcester and Shirley Boddie of Richmond, CA, a stepbrother, Horace Carlos of New York; two stepsisters, Eugenia Nevins of Arizona and Muriel Anderson of Worcester; 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore R. Boddie II, two daughters, Evelyn Boddie-Lane and Deidre Boddie, a sister Vivian G. Guy and two grandsons, Daryl and Edward Boddie. Mrs. Boddie was born in Worcester, a daughter of Walter James Fairley and Hazel G. (Klash) Fairley Carlos.
Mrs. Boddie worked as an elevator operator for many years at Filene’s Dept. Store and the Denholm & McKay store. She was a member of Belmont Street A.M.E. Zion Church.
The funeral service will be held on Friday July 25, at 12:00 p.m. in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. A calling hour in the funeral home will be held before the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
