Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Frank M. Braxten, age 91, longtime resident of Tewksbury, Mass and a former resident of Medford, Mass. Passed away at the Academy Manor in Andover, following an extended illness on Tuesday, July 22, 2008.
He was the beloved husband of Barbara J. (Fernandes) Braxten, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.
Born in Somerville, Mass. on September 5, 1916, he was the son of the late Matthew and Francesca (Hasgill) Braxton.
Mr. Braxten attended the Mechanics Arts High School and Northeastern University.
Prior to his retirement in 2003, Mr. Braxten was employed as a Machinist and Quality Control Inspector at Monks Manufacturing Company in Wilmington.
He served as Scoutmaster for the Allston Troop 1 Boy Scouts for many years.
In addition to his wife, he was the loving father of three children, Cheryl (Braxten) Callahan of Lowell, Scott M. Braxten of Salisbury and his dear friend Linda Silverio, and Gary F. Braxten of Lowell and his dear friend Maureen Doherty. He is also survived by a dear granddaughter, Jacquelyn Braxten of Methuen.
He was pre-deceased by his sister, Ramona RedCloud of New York, and his son-in-law, Kenneth Callahan of Lowell

Calling hours Friday, July 25th, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services will take place Saturday, July 26th, at 9 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Tewksbury Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Boy Scout Troop 47 of Tewksbury, c/o 14 Westland Drive, Tewksbury, MA 01876 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
