Lenora Gray Wood, 90, of Ty Ty died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2008, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Charles Nichols and Rev. R. L. Byers will officiate with burial to follow in Poulan Cemetery. Craig Driggers, Patrick Warren, B. J. Warren, Wayne Warren, Walter Sullivan, Jerry Sullivan and Rickey Hill will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Wood was born on May 22, 1918 in Worth County and was the daughter of Arthur Gray and Mary Frances Gay Gray, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Wood; one daughter, Linda Warren; and one brother, Weldon Gray. She was a homemaker and retired from Lewis Taylor Farms and attended the Poulan Church of God.
Mrs. Wood is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, William Wood of Ty Ty, Michael "Mickey" and Sharon Wood of Ty Ty, and Bobby and Gail Wood of Tifton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Wallace Sullivan of Ty Ty, Janis and Robert Mullis of Ty Ty, and Billie and Frankie Goodman of Tifton; four sisters, Caroline Crew of Sylvester, Lois Smith of Albany, Myrtice Springs of Albany, and Helen Sessions of Birmingham, Alabama; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
