Joseph S. Cravino, 88, of New Bedford died July 19, 2008 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph and Adelaide (Nascimento) Cravinho, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
He was formerly employed by Slater's Dye in Pawtucket, RI until retirement.
Mr. Cravino loved music, listening to tapes, whistling, dancing and had a brown belt in Karate.
His family would like to extend their thanks to Brandon Woods of Dartmouth.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Beatrice Silva of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Hilda Newton of New Bedford and Lorraine Carriero of Hudson, NY; several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Albert Cravinho, Ethelynne Brites, Adelaide Ptasienski, Angelina Frates and Michael Cravino.
His Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 26th at 9 AM in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
